Despite the fact that the roof is perhaps one of the most important parts of any house due to the immense amount of protection it provides against the forces of nature, it’s relatively common that homeowners know little about how to properly manage their roofs. In fact, it’s quite normal to hear stories of how a homeowner must deal with extensive and costly damages on their roofs because of general negligence, or because they didn’t know what to spot in the first place.

Nowadays, it’s important that you have a well-maintained roof that can serve you for decades and provide ample protection against snow, rains, hails, strong winds, and the blistering rays of the sun. This means that you must have your roof periodically checked to spot the developing concerns and address them before they become more serious damages. Neglect, even when unintentional, will cause them to worsen and stress you out as you try to remedy the situation.

But like mentioned, most homeowners do now know what signs to look out for due to lack of knowledge, training, and proper equipment to conduct a thorough investigation. Hiring a roofing professional can greatly solve this problem, as they are trained to make a complete diagnosis and even recommend solutions based on what they’ve found. By hiring a roofing contractor, you’re ensuring that your roof gets the best care it can receive and that you can preserve your rooftop for years to come.

St. Albans underwent many name changes before settling on its current one. It was originally known as Philippi, after Philip Thompson, before being changed to Colesmouth after Samuel Cole, who discovered the area and the river. It was later incorporated as Kanawha City in 1868, then was finally renamed in 1872 by H.C. Parsons of the C & O Railroad in honor of his birthplace in St. Albans, Vermont.
